Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved a major cabinet reshuffle involving several commissioners and the appointment of two new special advisers.
A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, said the changes, which take immediate effect, are aimed at repositioning the administration for better service delivery.
Under the new arrangement, Hon. Adnan Nahabu has been named Commissioner for Higher, Vocational and Technical Education, while Prof. Ahmad Muhammad Bakori moves from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development to head the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development.
Hon. Aliyu Lawal Zakari, formerly in charge of Youth and Sports Development, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Agriculture, while Hajiya Zainab Musa Musawa moves from Basic and Secondary Education to the Ministry of Special Duties.
Hon. Yusuf Suleiman Jibia is now Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, and Engr. Surajo Yazid Abukur takes over as Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development.
Similarly, Hajiya Aisha Aminu, who previously served as Director-General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, is now Commissioner for Women Affairs.
The statement also announced the appointment of Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar Yar’adua as Special Adviser on Nutrition and Welfare Services, and Isa Muhammad Musa as Special Adviser on Cultural Orientation.
Governor Radda urged all the appointees to uphold professionalism and align with the goals of his administration’s Building Your Future agenda.
He expressed confidence that the reshuffle would strengthen coordination and accelerate the delivery of key government programmes in education, health, agriculture, youth empowerment, and social welfare.
